 . . . short bio
Kimes has taught at American University since 1988 and served as department chair since 1990. Since 1986 he has also been Artistic Director of the Chautauqua Institution School of Art. Previously he taught for 10 years at the New York Studio School, where he was also Program Director from 1980-85. Kimes is founder and Director of the AU MFA and Studio Art programs in Rome and Corciano, Italy.
