Carol Tecla Christ is the president of Smith College. Founded in 1871, Smith College is the largest liberal arts college for women in the nation. Prior to her role as president, Christ served as the English Department Chair at the University of California, Berkeley for three years. She also served as the dean of humanities, and provost and dean of the College of Letters and Sciences. Christ has authored and edited a number of Victorian and English literature and poetry books.
