Farid Esack is the chair of the Ethics, Religion, and Society Program at Xavier University. A native of South Africa, Esack played an integral role in the United Democratic Front struggle against apartheid. Esack is committed to inter-religious solidarity for justice, and has served as Commissioner for Gender Equality in the South African government, National Coordinator of Call to Islam, and is currently on the Advisory Board of National Public Radio.
